It's time for Orenda's November news! Let me start by saying that I hope your holiday season is off to a reasonable start and that you are able to find space for joy, peace, and connection. I'll say more about the holidays and authenticity further in an upcoming blog, but for now, here is what will be covered in this month's newsletter:

My colleagues and I just returned from a speaking event at the Global Exchange Conference that was held in Florida. And yes, that's the three of us with Bessel van Der Kolk, author of The Body Keeps the Score (which we are currently focusing our student and coaching community book club on, coincidentally)!

Catherine Sims, LPC, Libby DeFehr, MA and myself completed our presentation Learning through Storytelling: Rwanda A Portrait of Post-Traumatic Growth and had the honor of presenting it here. What a gift!

In addition to having the opportunity to chat with one of the brightest starts in the trauma world, we also got to say hello to Dr. Richard Schwartz, who authored Internal Family Systems therapy, which has been informing my work for the past 15 years. We were definitely starstruck!

Many were unable to see the training in Florida, however we are offering it again through ITTC's online learning platform (Kalos) this spring!

In case you are unaware, ITTC stands for Integrative Trauma Treatment Center, which is a clinic I co-own that also has a continuing education platform. ITTC and Orenda partner for a variety of offerings.

While many of the continuing education opportunities offered through Kalos are geared towards mental health therapists, this particular presentation is for EVERYONE.

We created a 30- minute documentary-style film during our last trip to Rwanda in effort to highlight the voice of a country that is a true beacon when it comes to recovery from tragedy. If you are interested in joining us, below is the link to register.

UPCOMING RETREAT-STYLE TRAININGS

Our next two international trainings are going to be in Vietnam this spring and South Africa next fall!

We are working with our logistics partner (Global Engagement Institute) to add humanitarian opportunities during our visits. These activities will augment our current itineraries a bit...we are still ironing out the details.

We aim to contribute to the countries we visit + learn alongside colleagues from those regions as well as delegates who travel with us.

These retreat-style trainings are great for aspiring Trauma Coaches, for existing coaches who want to specialize their practice, for Therapists who want to learn the basics of trauma, or how to integrate a Trauma Coach into their practice. Continuing Education credits are offered to mental health providers through the NBCC (ACEP # 6912).

These events are offered in partnership with ITTC. Learn more at https://www.ittc-kalos.com/retreats
